Outreach Overview
Wallace Collection
From the hundreds of workshops I have designed and run from nearly 30 years of working with many groups at this glorious collection I have chosen this. It was in response to a small exhibition of Manolo Blanki shoes, who in turn is inspired by the Wallace, like many designers. This is a two day summer sculpture conceptual class. We start with wire and mod roc foundation and then with multiple techniques create and dress the space. I love the head of education who responded to these sessions by telling me they were the maddest, messiest and most creative classes, I agree!!
National Gallery
Working with Sophie Draper and Jo Lewis this image was created working for a week with a primary school in conjunction with the tapestry make by Dovecote Studios responding to a series of watercolours by Chris Offili., , Luke Crookes, Mark Woodhead. For Take One Picture, the National Gallerie’s National School Programme, I was asked to give the Artist perspective two years running, lecturing to a room full of teachers about different techniques and experiences over the years.
Kettles Yard, Cambridge
A very special collection space that belongs to Cambridge University. Working with mostly Sarah Campbell I job-shared on a wonderfully creative weekly class we ran for 15 years called ‘Wednesday Club,” in response to the current exhibition and artworks in the house.” I worked with Annemie Melis and Filipa Pereira-Stubbs and brilliant group of after school co-artists. I also did many other workshops with the Education team.
